The I Love Eu project welcomes 60 boys and girls from 10 different European countries who will live a unique experience in San S. Miniato, in the heart of Tuscany for a week. They will lodge in the 13th century San Francesco convent now perfectly restored and transformed in a comfortable hostel for the Francigena road pilgrims and tourists. Participants will be able to share experiences, knowledge, proposals and ideas stimulated by the beauty and peace of the place.
The project, co-funded by the European Community as part of the youth exchange program, is conceived and organized by Fondazione Toscana Sostenibile in collaboration with NKey and provides a week of activities aimed at engaging young people from different countries, cultures and languages to create tools to spread the importance of participating in European institutions and in particular in the upcoming election.
The project includes a preparatory phase in which all the participants have to to prepare their contribution to the work to be done during the mobility. On March the 5th 2019 all the boys and girls will arrive in Italy and on the morning of the 6th they will join the FTS Italian team to start the work. They will all live 6 intense days of activities to increase their knowledge of the European institutions and develop strategies to disseminate the “European” message, final and fundamental phase of the project.
Next May 2019 we will all be called to elect the new European Parliament. The project is aimed at new voters between 18 and 22 years and its main purpose is to increase the knowledge of young people towards the European institutions and encourage their participation in the electoral appointment. The project includes intense moments of aggregation to promote mutual knowledge, deepen awareness of the importance of being active European citizens and above all to develop digital products to be able to disseminate the message on social networks in order to reach the largest number of young people voters.
